t-shirt design

Mrs. Batson's art classes just finished up an artist's residency with the wonderful Mickayla Poland - a painter, graphic designer and owner of her own business, PA Made, in St. Mary's.

She spent 10 days with the Crafts, Drawing & Painting, and Advanced Art classes teaching them about the basics of graphic design, guiding them as they created their own t-shirt designs using Canva or Adobe Illustrator, and then showing them how to apply the Direct-To-Film (DTF) transfers to their shirts. The students benefited greatly from her expertise and business knowledge throughout her time with them. They plan to make their t-shirt designs available for purchase if anyone

would like to order them, so be on the lookout for social media posts or flyers showing all their great designs! This project was made possible thanks to grants received from the Elk County Council on the Arts, the PA Council on the Arts and the Pennsylvania Association of Rural and Small Schools.
