Volunteering
When parents and families get involved at school, everyone benefits. Show your child that you care about their education by volunteering for one of our organizations or by lending a helping hand on campus. You make all the difference!
Guest Volunteers
Got time, talent, or just think kids are awesome? We need you! Guest volunteers work directly under the supervision of school staff in a variety of ways. From helping with classroom celebrations to reading to students to working a concession stand, there are many ways to contribute. We do not require guest volunteers to obtain clearances; however, every volunteer must sign the Acknowledgement of School Policies form.
Position Volunteers
Position volunteers routinely interact with children and may supervise, guide, or control children without direct supervision from school personnel. Position volunteers must obtain clearance prior to volunteering. These activities may include chaperoning field trips or dances, tutoring, coaching, and more.
Volunteer Clearances
We require all position volunteers to submit the following clearances to the superintendent’s office (must be dated within 60 months of the activity):
Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34) - no fee
Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Certification (Act 151) - no fee
Volunteers who have lived in Pennsylvania for less than 10 years must provide a Disclosure Statement (no fee) or personally cover the cost of FBI fingerprinting (Act 114)
Proof (certificate) of participation in Child Abuse Reporting Training. CASD offers a one-hour training course as needed, or you may take the Child Abuse Reporting Training online at your convenience.
